White Coats 02:45
Jesus Christ, the guy inside that painting just moved I’m serious here. But you scoff at me in my rubber room Acting sly you sadly try to craftily pry into my shatterproof mind The unseen strings, I see their seams So you basely deem me a crazy freak. What good are secrets that leak? White coats in the room Say I’m insane, but they’ve got no proof You think I’ll take this abuse? Then it’s you who this jacket should be strapped to No offense, but tell the feds to get a new shrink Delirious fear keeps me up cause they attack when you blink Pathetically, you desperately, try to get me to see that there’s no conspiracy But I won’t buy that clever lie Hey, surveillance spies and psychic satellites: free me or meet your demise
2.
Amygdala 03:10
An old Polaroid with a person removed There’s a me-shaped hole in all your family albums A severed cerebrum sheds in strips to the floor The chill of you’s triggered through my hypothalamus Each time’s the same, but this reckless brain’s holding on Why did you vivisect me? Never knew you had surgical skills Cause you took out the beaty thing that was in my chest Why did you vivisect me? Amygdala, you make me so mad Back and forth and back again like a tumor returned Now my hippocampus is a huge load-bearing wall You infected me and my Wernicke died Their warning words were getting slurred in my broken skull Like magnets attract my lobotomy’s coming back till you’re gone Why did you vivisect me? (Meningitophobia) Never knew you had surgical skills Cause you took out the beaty thing that was in my chest Why did you vivisect me? (Meningitophobia) Amygdala, you make me so mad Like a storm that won’t quit, reason won’t deter these crazy kids Insane is repeating what didn’t work My brain’s getting in the way Serious mental injury is bound to happen to those who are not careful Why did you vivisect me?

Have you ever burst through the door of a room, then forget why you went in? Have you ever had a stranger call your name, but it’s their stupid kid? The nagging sense that everything you’ve done has been done before The odd familiarity that none of us can ignore Déjà vu, déjà vu Am I doomed to repeat all I do? The reruns run and it syndicates you A vague persistence that the thing’s not new Do you ever walk to the beat of a song when you’re listening to it? Have you ever thought about Madame Tussaud dumpster diving for q-tips? Is a lazy animator copy/pasting the frames? Is the glitchy Matrix making it so that it won’t change? Déjà vu, déjà vu Am I doomed to repeat all I do? I swear I’ve heard this chorus before too The reruns run and it syndicates you A vague persistence that the thing’s not new

Try to act natural You know the consequence if the secret slips: they’ll see your shame A spy should be casual But in your daunting dreams you see a haunting scene of witches at the stake Mission’s clear: hide from the enemy Maintain cover, never let it show They’d point and scream and say you’re not like them If the spy inside is exposed The truth is a black hole Those words you’d dare to speak, make sure they’re buried deep beneath your skin Give the real you a capsule Believe in your own lie, turn into the disguise to kill the freak within Disappear, conceal identity Undercover as another clone They light the torches when you’re not like them The spy can ruin lives if exposed Take your fear, make it an entity Use as cover, never let it go They contradict themselves but still condemn When spies that they despise are exposed Voices sear: “reveal, you’re dead to me” It’s all over if they ever know Until they see you through a broader lens The spy inside can hide with the clothes

Picture, me: an anxious teen You, the very same Secretly underneath, our eyes reveal our age There we were by the creek Contamination in the drink Never scar, never bleed A prize that’s paid in youth Reluctantly, still a team Cause we’re the only two Tell me, do you think it’s fair that as they die we don’t? Immortal me wakes from his sleep, dreaming of the day he won’t Is it wrong to want to see a cease to this seeming eternity? Hoping that we still blend in, fearing lab examination I’d rather lay my eyes on a reaper’s scythe than you again Another year, another day, synonyms to us Take a blade, invade a vein But your god ignores the touch The cars were ants from so far below We grazed the sky with nothing to show Defective, deceptive skin, the bars that keep us caged Like I said, my ancient head can’t think of something new to say Is it wrong to want to see a cease to this seeming eternity? Hoping that we still blend in, fearing lab examination I’d rather lay my eyes on a reaper’s scythe than you again

Hey little man, scooch on over, make room for big ol’ dad Hmm, what was that? No I’m not drunk, shut up, don’t be a brat I know that it’s late; I just wanted to say a few things, father to son As you grow up, you’ll want to quit when it’s tough And maybe you should, cause life sure sucks Living’s a gateway drug that gets you hooked on breathe You’ll build up a steady dependence and a deficit ends in death God is your dealer, and with age he’ll jack the price So intentions are hopeless, whatever your dope is You’re just a corpse waiting to die, okay now sleep tight Everyone’s got a nightmare regarding their demise Sleep well my little angel Someday you’ll be dust, and they’ll hardly mind I know you’re young, and mom was saying I shouldn’t be so blunt But in my gut, I know you’ll be better off knowing this stuff The world’s made of tools that are molded by rules, many of which are built on lies The optimist is the kind who is willingly blind He’ll get stabbed twice and still ask why Fear is the worry for bad outcomes you might face Sad is acceptance when those outcomes have taken place Life doles out annoying guests, that’ll break down the cosmic door And son to be honest, I downed a few vodkas I don’t know what I’m saying anymore, I’ll be on the floor Even I’ve got a nightmare regarding my demise Sleep well my little cherub Someday I’ll be dust, and you’ll hardly mind I won’t always be here, son, so heed these words I spout Life is a scary thing, and you’ll spend it doused in doubt A dad’s job is to prevent his kid from repeating mistakes he’s honed But no matter how hard I try, you’ll only make your own, you’ll go it alone My neverending nightmare’s regarding your demise Sleep well my little darling Someday you’ll be dust, someday I’ll be dust Someday we’ll be dust, but we’ll hardly mind

Subordinate 03:06
I swear this tie is tightening, like I’m dangling from some gallows The secretary’s crying, takes all I’ve got to keep my mouth closed Crossed the line so much, I’d kill him if he weren’t my boss With rage is what I’m filled. Christ, now what does he want? You’re kind of addicted to being flawless You’re going to help out, cause you’re so kind You know you’re an asset to the whole office No really, you succeed in all you try The coffee’s pretty bitter, as are all of his wrecked subjects Spend the day on Twitter, hoping he’ll say “clean out your desk” Quit the bigoted drivel; he says that god hates gays Demeans and belittles people when he won’t get his way You’re kind of addicted to being flawless You’re going to help out, cause you’re so kind You know you’re an asset to the whole office No really, you succeed in all you try I’ve found myself day-dreaming the same thing for nearly two years Walk up to his door and when it opens slit his throat to both ears Still, I’m stuck in this tower, as spineless as I am “Subordinate coward”, will surely read my epitaph (You’re kind of addicted) You’re kind of addicted to being flawless (We’re grateful they found someone so profound, you’re going to help out) You’re going to help out, cause you’re so kind (The staff’s all in debt cause you’re heaven-sent; you know you’re an asset) You know you’re an asset to the whole office (At no point in time do we wish you’d die; you really succeed in all you try) No really, you succeed in all you try
8.
Cut my head open You’ll find another one Cause I am A head inside a head A head inside a head A head inside a head Plagiarizing then disguising This song’s a rip-off Of one you’ve heard before And that song ripped-off something else History’s for shameless thieves A head inside a head A head inside a head A head inside a head Plagiarizing All thoughts have been thought before (What a rip-off) Nothing original’s left (What a rip-off) Even the thought that all thoughts have been thought Has been thought before A head inside a head A head inside a head A head inside a head Plagiarizing
9.
Da Capo 03:21
My aching legs await the words that pour from pens The kind he sings in rhyme define my every step It ends and briefly then the puppet strings go limp But when it starts again, so does its Sisyphus Cause all I know is this: the song that never quits In the earworm from hell There’s a cell behind the bars and lines Don’t believe in the lie When the pie says music died Beneath your mp3 a scene repeats all day It’s me who plays the lead but dreams of an escape As if a broken disc could skip an endless jam My arms are slaves to art, I march to bard’s command On charts Descartes is crammed, he sings therefore I am In the earworm from hell There’s a cell behind the bars and lines Don’t believe in the lie When the pie says music Diatonic decay Da capo decapitates Do re mi fa so la ti do Oh slay me god or let me go

When I was a kid, my parents told me about a man Who’d slip through the chimney and slink in as sugar plumbs danced Rumor is he leaves presents, but does that justify a B&E I’m guarding my organs, cause I’ve been staying up scared to death of this freak It seems like they wouldn’t care If they woke up to find a fat man’s vacant stare He’s fooled the world, but I’m not convinced I tremble at the thought of what he does to those put on the naughty list In the arctic snowy frost Where no man can survive for long Dwells a beast with fur and claws Am I the only one with claustrophobia? Eight bloodthirsty reindeer (that could kill you with one kick) fly just above How has no one deciphered what Clement Moore was trying to warn us of He’s coming for you this Xmas, executing the masses in the chill of night This monster needs subjects for a ritualistic winter solstice sacrifice His shop makes weapons for the government That indentured dwarves build under threat of death He sees you sleep, he seemingly can’t die And just what kind of godless witchcraft gets him down a chimney at that size In the arctic snowy frost Where you or I wouldn't survive for long Dwells a beast with fur and claws Am I the only one with claustrophobia? It can’t be only me who’s frightened by this freak Put the ‘n’ at the end and you’ll see what I mean Blood in snow is awfully close to looking like the clothes he wears So, late at nights I’ve been devising secret schemes In the hopes that this December when he comes for me A plate of poison cookies puts an end to this white-haired nightmare
11.
Love and hatred, they make a pair One breaks his bones to make a wage to take home, the other one’s an heir There’s some scribbled scrawling in a sacred scroll concerning prophecy The pictograms depict a man who dimly stands triumphant but unseen Inching close those foes will go to war Never seen a brawl like this, the opposites attract One towers over with its hulking size, the other is no match Place your bets on who might win this I think we all know who the obvious pick is When a matter of good and evil comes to blows, it's a grim tableau Living and dying, they make a pair One prowls at nights in cowls and tights picking fights; the other’s got green hair All who breathe so hollowly look over their shoulder, a bit ashamed that they peeked His clientele, the lifeless shells know well that he’s out there. He’s the face of defeat. When you're young, he knocks, for us, he roars Never seen a brawl like this, the opposites attract One towers over with its hulking size, the other is no match Place your bets on who might win this I think we all know who the obvious pick is When a matter of good and evil comes to blows, noble neck’s wear ropes
12.
Henchman sweep the foggy street The president’s in jail If I’ve learned one thing on earth, its evil will prevail Abandoned shops are boarded up Upon the door they nailed A bloody board that tries to warn that evil will prevail In the mud, a sluggish schlub Is crawling like a snail Did his dad not tell him that evil will prevail? Covert ops and crooked cops Have heads they must impale It’s okay they’ll all get paid when evil prevails Neon lights that shine so bright Obscure a darker veil One by one the heroes run cause evil has prevailed Tumbleweeds roll down the street As dogs eat their own tails Misery’s like air you breathe when evil has prevailed A picket fence with stains and dents A mailbox stuffed with mail Envelopes envelop ghosts when evil did prevail Rain so thick it falls in bricks To crack the cars with hale Falling down to slowly drown where evil had prevailed A storm that swirls and eats the world Will soon be setting sail What a time to be alive, evil will prevail
13.
I’m not expecting your sympathy Gloating may be more appropriate, I hate irony I stole your spotlight, now they stole it from me If you rise, sooner or later you’ll fall I fell so hard and you loved it Looking at the situation, neither of us won overall I erased your dreams, now the same’s done to me Cause love is never something that lasts They shower with fame, then they bury the name Of old fads Maybe once I’d have looked down my nose And asked you how it felt to fade to nothing like a discarded ghost But attention’s an adrenalin dose The more you get the more that you crave We reminisce and play checkers But deep inside we both resent the other person’s dumb, stupid face I erased his dreams, just like you did to me And then they feared the shadow I cast They worship your steps, then they quickly forget The old, fat, and despised have the past in their eyes Celebrity’s like an assembly line Knocked to the side by the hot, younger guy Erased, debased, defaced, replaced Until we don’t leave a trace Now that our fifteen have ended We watch as our replacements are replaced and take the bench by our side I erased your dreams, now the cycle repeats I’m smirking as your merch fills the trash They hand you a sign that says ‘relic of time’ AKA old fad
14.
Bike tires screech on the side of a road The wheels fought the frost. With my hands on the bars, I walk home Each selfish breath hangs like smoke that could burn down the sun Both hands man my lips, just let me forget Sealing shut. Eyelids up. I’d try to sleep now, but the back of my eyes show her picture My mind's going blind from the fire in the sky that didn’t miss her Car tires shriek in my temporal lobe The lights they ignored made a nightmare take form As it snowed, let it go I’d try to sleep now, but the back of my eyes show her picture My mind's going blind from the fire in the sky that didn’t miss her I dream that someday these dreams will forget her
15.
There’s this ever-present itching addiction in me The only thing that stops the twitching is sickening to see Watch the fleeting life flooding from their eyes I am horrified by my crimes This brain’s as brilliant as it is deranged If it can’t be tamed, there’s one other way I’ll build a machine to save the masses from me It travels in time to wash away my sin I built a machine to save ‘em from me I’ll travel in time to find the tortured kid who grew into my skin Ending it before it can begin Stepping through the smoking time pod, oh my god, I’m here Haven’t seen the place in so long, it’s been gone for years Staring breathless, stunned, and amazed Stands the innocent me of eight I’m clutching the knife, I think we’re ready to die Then suddenly dad stumbles in on us I’m clutching the knife, I’m ready to die Then suddenly dad runs in with a gun, shoots to save his son Traumatized, the kid starts to go numb There’s this ever-present itching addiction in me
16.
Parasite 02:21
All we want’s a decent place to hide You’re twice the man you thought you were It multiplies the more you look inside Living off the life that let us in The parasite came here to fight A billion dangling right beneath your skin We are the people who thrive Beneath the peephole of your eye Our bind is lethal, what once was you will soon be the new us Cause in this sequel heroes die Creepy crawly critters burrow deep like a sliver We configure long before you see we play for keeps Our fondness for this body’s growing fierce We slip in slow to seize control So though you host, your lonely ghost adheres We are the people who thrive Beneath the peephole of your eye Our bind is lethal, what once was you will soon be the new us Cause in this sequel heroes die
17.
Monster 03:40
I made a monster, but I didn’t know The lightning it struck him and he stood up slow He tried hard to hide it, but these things get out I tried to fight it, forget what I found I never wanted this for you The gavel strikes sharply, the jurors agree I hate you so badly, you took you from me So what little’s left now of that kid I raised Will never be seen without bars cross his face I never wanted this for you
18.
On the night that it appeared Stars burned out to hide themselves in fear It’s here Once upon a time, the night Brightly shined, then darkness drowned the light In spite Long before gods chiseled rock to forge universe Something was patiently waiting to rise As was foretold, a great old evil has returned Woken to blacken the skies Grim grinning ghosts socialize The bridges burst and bend Shapeless forms with Rorschach heads Mud’s creeping up the walls Men walking on their eyes Floods of endless raining slime A wind that screams in squall Cars careening from the clouds Water from the faucet comes out brown and drips to the ground Then crawls around Midnight monster movie scene Things are creeping through the TV screen A fog thick and green seeps through the floorboards that creek Now it looks down on the town as it burns and breaks One battle waged in a new shiny war Slithering on with the dawn to another place Soon it’ll show up in yours Listen for its distant roar
